2022 Rising Star Final Round Judges

Lori Galvin has been an agent with Aevitas Creative Management since 2015. Previously she was an editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and America’s Test Kitchen. She also survived running a b&b in coastal Maine. She represents fiction (crime, women’s, and book club) and select nonfiction (memoir and food writing). Some of her clients include Wanda M. Kat Kerr joined Donald Maass Literary Agency in 2019 and also currently serves as a juror for the Florida Book Awards, popular fiction category. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors in English in 2009 and is always looking for works that have a lot of heart and something to say. 

 

 

 

 

Erin Niumata is a Senior Vice President at Folio. She worked as an editor at Simon and Schuster, Harper Collins, and was Editorial Director of Avalon Books. She edited many authors including Leon Uris, Stuart Woods, Michael Lee West, Debbie Fields, Erica Jong, Brenda Maddox, Joan Rivers, NY Times bestselling author Carolyn Brown, inspirational/business speaker Erik Wahl, Teen guru Josh Shipp,  NY Times bestselling authors Jen Lancaster and Jenn Mann, Tyler Merritt, Anna Lind Thomas,  Soko Glam founder Charlotte Cho, Michelle Poler of Hellofears.com, Discovery’s River Monsters, Cash Cab, Diesel Brothers, Fast N Loud, TLC’s – The Cake Boss, Extreme Couponing, Honey Boo Boo, Animal Planet’s Finding Big Foot, Shark Week, NASA’s Above and Beyond, and many more. Amy Tannenbaum is a passionate author advocate with over 15 years of book industry experience. Amy represents clients who write across a variety of genres including women’s fiction, contemporary romance, thriller and psychological suspense. She is particularly interested in those categories, as well as fiction that falls into the sweet spot between literary and commercial, narrative non-fiction, and works by marginalized voices. After graduating from Wesleyan University, Amy worked at Harlequin then Simon & Schuster where she edited a diverse list of bestselling fiction and nonfiction projects. Given Amy’s background, she is able to provide valuable insight into both sides of the business, as well as editorial support to her clients. While Amy represents many bestselling and prolific authors, she prides herself on her ability to find talented debut authors and help them launch successful careers.

 

 

Carly Watters is a SVP and Senior Literary Agent at P.S. Literary. She has a BA in English Literature from Queen’s University and a MA in Publishing Studies from City University London. She began her publishing career in London as an assistant at the Darley Anderson Literary, TV and Film Agency. Carly joined Toronto-based P.S. Literary Agency in 2010 and has sold over 100 books during her career. She represents award-winning and bestselling authors in the adult fiction and non-fiction categories, and select children’s books. She is known for her long-term vision for her authors and being an excellent collaborator with a nose for commercial success. She has close ties to publishers in the major markets and works directly with film agents to option film and TV rights to leading networks and production companies. Her clients’ books have been translated into 40 languages, optioned for TV and film, adapted into podcasts, and have been on every bestseller list from coast to coast, including the New York Times, USA Today, the LA Times, the Washington Post, the Toronto Star, and the Globe and Mail. The popular writing podcast The Shit No One Tells You About Writing, for which Carly is the co-host, has over 500,000 downloads.

Ann Leslie Tuttle joined DG&B in 2017 after working for 20 years at Harlequin Books where she most recently was a Senior Editor.  At Harlequin, she was fortunate to work on an extensive and varied list of bestselling and award-winning titles in romance and women’s fiction.  She is actively acquiring women’s fiction, especially beach reads and historical fiction; contemporary romance, rom coms, historical romance, Southern Gothics, thrillers, mysteries, narrative nonfiction and Middle Grade.  She received her B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary and an M.A. from the University of Virginia. Finding and nurturing talented new and established writers has always been Ann Leslie’s passion.

 

 

 

Barbara Collins Rosenberg is an agent with 20+ years-experience in the publishing industry, working first as an editor with Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, and eventually founding her agency, The Rosenberg Group. She represents romance and women’s fiction, with an occasional foray into realistic YA.  She also represents trade nonfiction by authors with a strong platform, and has a unique specialty working in the college textbook arena.
