WFWA Code of Conduct | WFWA BYLAWSDiversity & Inclusion StatementThe Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA) is dedicated to giving all writers a safe and inclusive environment in which to learn about, discuss, and obtain support in their writing journey.We embrace and celebrate the unique experiences, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds that each member brings to our group. We strive to foster an environment where our members feel respected, valued, and empowered, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, religion, marital status, political affiliation, or socio-economic status. We are committed to the following actions in support of a diverse, inclusive, and belonging environment. • Providing ongoing education and training to all members on diversity, inclusion, and belonging topics.
• Supporting a diversity and inclusion (D&I) committee with leadership at the board level. The D&I committee is comprised of members at all levels of the organization.
• Providing all members a safe avenue to voice concerns regarding diversity and inclusion within our community.
Community Standards and ExpectationsAll members are expected to support a diverse and inclusive environment by adhering to the following community standards and expectations: • Treat others with dignity and respect at all times.
• Foster teamwork and member participation by seeking insights from members with different experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds.
• Refrain from comments or behavior that are derogatory, harassing, abusive, offensive, or unwelcome.
• Constructively address the decisions or behaviors of others that are based on intentional or unintentional biases. If you need support doing this, please contact [email protected] or the president at [email protected]
• Be open-minded and listen when given constructive feedback regarding others' perceptions of your conduct.
• Retaliation against anyone who believes the community standards and expectations have been violated is not acceptable.
