Betty Bolté is an award-winning American author and editor of fiction and nonfiction books. Rebecca Campbell is an amateur cook and non-practising scientist living in the New England region of northern New South Wales, Australia, with her husband, two stepsons, two cats and a dog. After studying and researching zoology, animal ecology, entomology, myrmecology and climate change for ten years, she realised academia wasn't for her and rediscovered her passion for creative writing. Jill Caugherty is a former senior marketing manager in the tech industry and a Stanford University graduate with an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has published two historical novels with a small press: Waltz in Swing Time (2020); and The View from Half Dome (2023), winner of the 2023 NC Author Project for YA Fiction and 2023 IPPY Bronze medal for Best Regional Fiction, Pacific West. Nicole Comforto is an award-winning comedy writer and New York Times Modern Love essayist. Her first novel, co-written with her husband Mike, was a finalist in the 2022 Launch Pad Prose competition and top ten comedy manuscript on Coverfly. She has presented at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) 2023 annual conference, mentored querying authors, and been featured on several podcasts. Carla Damron is a social worker, advocate and author. Lorraine Norwood was a professional journalist for over 20 years before making a career change to archaeology. She worked as an archaeologist and archaeology editor while participating in excavations in the US and in England. Her debut novel, The Solitary Sparrow, was published this year. She has won awards in the Atlanta Writers Club contests and an Emerging Artist Award for Western North Carolina for her short stories and essays. Linda Bennett Pennell has been in love with the past for as long as she can remember. Anything with a history, whether shabby or majestic, recent or ancient, instantly draws her in. It probably comes from being part of a large extended family that spanned several generations. The novel is inspired by the discovery of her Jewish roots as an adult, and by her grandmother’s family, many of whom were murdered during the Latvian Holocaust. Karen Winters Schwartz wrote her first truly good story at age seven. Forty-five years later her professional writing career finally began in 2010, when the first of three widely praised novels, Where Are the Cocoa Puffs?, Reis’s Pieces, and The Chocolate Debacle were published by Goodman Beck Publishing. Red Adept Publishing released Legend of the Lost Ass in 2020, and her latest novel The Vast Clear Blue in 2023. Nancy Taber is a former Canadian military officer. Part of her job once included leaping out of a helicopter into the ocean.
