ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Most scenes in manuscripts can be more dynamic.  This advanced online workshop from Donald Maass will look at three types of scene purpose, non-sequential openings, inner turning points, levels of change, and how scenes lead onward.

This workshop is text-based, meaning the lessons will be provided in text format on the WFWA Workshop Community page and a PDF download of each lesson will be provided as well. There will be no live or pre-recorded videos. There will be five lessons over a two-week time period. Donald Maass will respond and make comments on homework assignments.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: DONALD MAASS

Donald Maass founded the Donald Maass Literary Agency in 1980.  His agency represents 300+ fiction authors, licensing their work to major publishers worldwide.  He is the author of several books on fiction craft, including Writing the Breakout Novel and The Emotional Craft of Fiction.  Don has presented hundreds of workshops around the world, including workshops for WFWA live and online.  He is a past president of the American Association of Literary Agents (AALA, formerly AAR).
