Grabbing the Reader 2019
Sunday, January 27, 2019 to Friday, February 01, 2019
Category: Workshops/Webinars

January 27 - February 1

Registration is now closed.

Do you think the opening of your story will capture someone? Entice them to know a little more? Compel them to care about the story arc or the character?

Do you know what writing and storytelling elements are recommended to be in the first 500 words? Can the reader predict the conflicts in the plot from the opening?

Come join everyone on this cozy and fun workshop. About 100 writers participate in this annual event. Free to all members.

Start off the new year by grabbing the reader with your first 500 words of a WOMEN'S FICTION manuscript. Get excited to read each other's stories and give feedback, suggestions, and kudos. Be ready to receive critiques that make you feel good and also that spur you off into a creative outspin. Then, you can rewrite once and get a second round of feedback.

THE SMALL PRINT

Registration will open on January 5 and close on January 20. There is a cut off date for registration so that the forum can be made and organized. There will be no late registrations. If you are unable to register in this window, please arrange to have another member friend register you. Peer participation is expected and monitored. If you register and fail to show up or participate fully, you will be blocked from future workshops for a year. If you need help unregistering, please email [email protected]
