WOMEN’S FICTION WRITERS ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES 5th ANNUAL WOMEN’S FICTION DAY

More than 50 Women’s Fiction Authors Participating in an online book give-away


May 16, 2023 (Washington, D.C.) — The Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA) is celebrating the 5th annual Women’s Fiction Day on June 8, 2023, with a week of online events and a literary treasure hunt.

Women’s Fiction Day celebrates women’s fiction authors, novels, publishers, book sellers, and most importantly, readers who appreciate women’s fiction and the power of a great story.

“Women’s Fiction is a vibrant, growing genre. These are the sorts of books that people enjoy in book clubs, recommend to other readers, and linger well after the last page, has been read,” says Jacki Kelly, WFWA President.

This year, the celebration includes online author talks and an online treasure hunt. Fans of women’s fiction are invited to visits the WFWA website at www.womensfictionwriters.org, download the Women’s Fiction Day tool kit and then visit the site on June 8 and search the list of authors who are offering giveaways and surprises.

“Our generous published member authors are excited to help us by offering book giveaways to readers,” says Kelly.

What Is Women's Fiction?

Women's fiction is a writing genre that includes layered stories in which the plot is driven by the main character’s emotional journey. The stories can be contemporary or historical, and may have magical, mystery, thriller, romance, or other elements. 

The Women’s Fiction Day logo represents the organization’s inclusivity, the joy of reading, and the infinite number of stories that fall under this vibrant genre.
