Registration All day on January 14 , 2019 (midnight to midnight ET)
REGISTRATION CLOSED
Once a year, members can pitch one unpublished (a nd never self-published), completed, polished women’s fiction manuscr ipt, and within one week, agents reply to the posts they would like to purs ue. This is a free, members-only event, but to give the agents a chance to focus on each pitch, the event is capped at a limited number of registrants .
In 2019, WFWA will have two online p itch events for our members, in February and July. This February event will be open to agents from Friday February 22 through Friday March 1. p>
If your registration is confirmed, you will be asked to submit for app roval your pitch (up to 50 words) along with the wordcount of your manuscri pt and first 250 words between February 4th and February 9th, 2019. All pit ches will be approved by end of day on February 15 for participation.
Special Notes:
WFWA's definition is Women's Fiction books can have ro mantic, historical or other elements, but at their core they must be layere d stories in which the plot is driven by the main character’s emotion al journey.
Due to overwhelming demand and for fairness , if we have more registrants than availability, we may again use a lottery approach.
Click here to read more about why we chose to move to a lottery approach and details on how it will work.
If you plan to participa te, you must be ready by February 4 with your 50-word pitch and first 250 w ords. We strongly recommend participating in January's Prepare Your Pitch W orkshop to ensure your pitch is as polished as possible and has a maximum c hance of success.
As more information becomes available we wi ll publish for members a list of participating agents.
Additional details and pitch posting instructions will be added to t his event as they become available. You can find great tips on how to write or improve your pitch, and exam ples of pitches that worked, in the Aspiring Author Toolbox.
